This laser is ideal for treating mild to moderate plaques of psoriasis. It can be used in hard to treat areas such as the knees, elbows and scalp. The Pharos EX-308 Excimer laser creates a concentrated, but painless, beam of ultraviolet light that is delivered to psoriatic plaques through a hand piece that rests directly on the skin. By precisely targeting specific plaques of psoriasis without exposing the healthy skin, the laser safely delivers high-dose treatment for fast clearing and long remission of these targeted areas. The treatments only take a few minutes twice a week and generally improvement is seen in 6 to 8 weeks. The side effects are minimal and short lived. Some patient’s may experience some redness at the treatment sites like a sunburn type reaction.
